Strawberry Ice Cream

How to make strawberry ice cream with an ice cream maker

  1. First wash the strawberries well , dry them and remove the stalk.
  2. Cut them into cubes (you don’t need to be too precise) and transfer them to a food processor together with the sugar and lemon juice .
  3. Blend the strawberries until you obtain a smooth, homogeneous cream.
  4. Add the milk and cream (do not whip it) and mix until all the ingredients are combined.
  5. Now, if you use a storage ice cream maker, put everything in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours so that it is very cold when you churn the ice cream. Conversely, if you have a self-refrigerating ice cream maker you can proceed directly with the preparation.
  6. Pour the cream into the basket with the blades in action and let it churn for 30-40 minutes . Each ice cream maker has its own timing so we invite you to consult the manual supplied for more precise information. The ice cream is ready when it begins to stick to the blades.
  7. You can enjoy it immediately or leave it in the freezer for a couple of hours before eating it.
  8. Before serving, however, bring it to room temperature for about ten minutes.

How to make strawberry ice cream without an ice cream maker

  1. The first steps are the same as the previous preparation. After washing and drying the strawberries , remove the stalk and cut the pulp into cubes.
  2. Blend it with the sugar and lemon juice until you obtain a smooth cream, then add the cream and milk .
  3. Pour everything into a large, not too high mold, such as a plum cake mold, and place in the freezer for 4 hours . Stir the ice cream with a spoon every 30 minutes to prevent ice crystals from forming.
  4. Your ice cream is ready to be consumed: remember to bring it to room temperature for 10 minutes before consuming it.

Conservation

Strawberry ice cream can be stored in the freezer for a month . We recommend serving it after a period of rest at room temperature (about 10 minutes).
