Today we meet for an article in which I answer a question that you ask me very often: what to wear under white, clear or transparent clothes ?
I wear a lot of white or beige lace blouses , very often openwork and a little transparent , so I have several little tricks to be comfortable in this type of clothing and overcome the transparency! The mistake is often to wear white under light or transparent clothes but, no, white is not invisible, quite the contrary ? To counter transparency, I bet everything on flesh-colored pieces ( caraco, bodysuit or colored headband beige/natural for me) so that they are invisible under my clothes.
The camisole top
The flesh-colored tank top/caraco is my big favorite to wear under light , lace, openwork and/or slightly transparent tops. I have different models of them, my favorites are from Uniqlo (I also have the long-sleeved version that I wear under blouses or long-sleeved blouses in autumn and winter) and they are totally invisible under a lace top , clear or transparent! You can also see me putting it on under a white lace blouse in this look video on IGTV and have proof of its invisibility in pictures ?
I also have a sublime and very comfortable silk camisole from the Yvo & Moi brand.
The bodysuit
I became addicted to bodysuits several years ago and I find them so comfortable to wear, no more drafts in the lower back! The model I’m swearing by right now is this powder beige model from H&M (sold out, but I found a similar model here ). I love it so much that I ordered several copies ? This Chantelle Soft Stretch model is also very good!
Headband
One of the simplest and most versatile underwear? The flesh headband! Completely invisible under clear or transparent tops, the bandeau is also super useful for asymmetrical tops , tank tops with very thin straps or strapless dresses! I have a model from Chantelle (which can be worn with or without straps) that has followed me for years without getting damaged (a great investment) and recently I also wear this Chantelle bra regularly (I’m less of a fan of bras ). throats with shells in recent years) which is also super comfortable. Their entire Soft Stretch range is great for invisibility under clothing, with that second-skin feel that I love!
What to wear under a white or transparent dress/skirt?
Before discovering the bottoms of dresses and skirts , it had happened to me on several occasions not to buy a skirt or a dress only because I found it a little too transparent and that I did not feel comfortable in it. because of that. 3 or 4 years ago I discovered dress bottoms and it was a revolution to be comfortable under all light and sometimes transparent dresses or skirts, without feeling naked, like under a white linen dress. that I wore in my previous article look for example.
I have a simple and effective nude underdress that’s perfect to wear under a slightly sheer dress. Personally, I like bottoms of skirts even more (it’s often at the level of the lower body that transparency bothers me the most on a dress) and I bought mine at Monoprix years ago (it looks like a very fine elasticated flesh-colored skirt in microfiber). I wear it under dresses like skirts to make them a bit more opaque when needed. This model looks like two drops of water to the one I own. You can also choose a white skirt bottom version(but a little less invisible for my taste). I recently went to COS and saw that they had dress and skirt bottoms that looked great!
Obviously, in the middle of summer, it adds thickness and therefore keeps it warmer but nothing dramatic ?
What to wear under white pants?
In spring and summer I wear a lot of white and light pants or shorts which require me to make the right choice of underwear. My best ally is the flesh-colored thong (I wear this kind of very simple model ) which avoids any demarcation or visibility! You can also choose the panties version, I haven’t tested it but it is apparently invisible even under tight and/or light-coloured clothing. You can also try red panties or thongs: under the white, they are invisible!
